When Alcohol Stops Feeling Like Freedom
The Alcohol Reset is a six-month guided pathway to help you understand the deeper patterns beneath drinking, alcohol and to support you in making real and lasting change.
Many people who come to this work are high-functioning, thoughtful, capable people who don’t outwardly “look” like they have a problem with alcohol, but internally know their relationship with drinking is costing them something.
Is This You?
You’re high-functioning, but alcohol quietly takes more than it gives.
You tell yourself you’ll only have one, then don’t.
You’re exhausted by the mental negotiation around drinking.
You’re successful in many areas of life, but this feels strangely hard to change.
You use alcohol to switch off, soften anxiety, reward yourself, or cope.
You’re beginning to realise drinking no longer aligns with who you want to become.
You don’t necessarily identify as an “alcoholic,” but you know something needs to shift.
You are not alone. And you do not need to do this through shame or willpower.
Why I do this work.
After years working in media and later founding the School of Modern Meditation, I began exploring and training in understanding the deeper psychological and nervous-system patterns beneath alcohol use - both through my own lived experience and through supporting hundreds of people in transformational work. What I saw again and again was that there were patterns and a process out of this. There were important things people simply weren’t being educated on - around alcohol and the brain, psychology, dopamine, nervous-system regulation, and neuroplasticity - and how deeply these influence behaviour, habit, coping, and change.
Sober for over a decade, my approach combines meditation, behavioural change, trauma-informed awareness, and Compassionate Inquiry to help people create lasting change without shame, rigidity, or harshness.
As the work is deeply personal and one-on-one, I only take a limited number of Resetters each year. I currently have space for two new commitments.
What is the Alcohol Reset Pathway?
The ARP is a six-month program for people who are ready to step out of the cycle of drinking, whether that cycle is daily, social, emotional, or simply habitual, and create a life that feels steadier, clearer, and more aligned. It includes:
1. Understanding You & Your Relationship With Alcohol
We begin by exploring your history with drinking, your current habits and patterns, and the role alcohol has come to play in your life emotionally, socially, psychologically, and neurologically. This creates the foundation for meaningful change.
2. A Six-Month Sobriety Commitment
The program is held within a minimum six-month sobriety container. This creates enough space for the body, brain, nervous system, and psychology to begin resetting and for deeper patterns to become visible and workable.
3. Weekly 1:1 Sessions With Structure & Support
You’ll receive weekly one-on-one sessions that follow a clear process and personalised plan. These sessions provide education, accountability, reflection, practical tools, and ongoing support as you move through the different stages of change.
4. Meditation & The Five Reset Tools
You’ll learn and explore meditation alongside the five core Reset Tools - practices that support regulation, awareness, behavioural change, emotional resilience, and reconnection with yourself beyond alcohol.
5. Working With Triggers & What Emerges
As alcohol is removed, other things often begin to surface - stress, emotions, patterns, grief, anxiety, identity shifts, relationship dynamics, or old coping mechanisms. Together, we work compassionately with what arises, helping you build the capacity to stay present, grounded, and responsive rather than reactive.
This is not about perfection or shame. It is about understanding the deeper process of change and creating a life where alcohol no longer feels necessary in the same way.

Claire Robbie is a meditation teacher and facilitator with over a decade of experience guiding people through sustainable habit change, emotional regulation, and self-inquiry. Her work in the Alcohol Reset Pathway is grounded in extensive training in meditation, nervous system awareness, and trauma-informed approaches, alongside her own lived experience of long-term alcohol freedom. Claire work is informed by Compassionate Inquiry, a modality developed by Dr Gabor Maté that explores the roots of coping behaviours with curiosity and kindness, and she integrates principles from Internal Family Systems (IFS) to help people understand and work with the different “parts” that drive habits, protection, and self-sabotage.
What makes Claire’s work unique is the way she weaves together clinical understanding, contemplative practice, and real-world experience. She doesn’t teach from theory alone; she teaches from having walked the path herself. This creates a space that is both deeply informed and deeply human, where accountability feels supportive rather than punitive, and change feels possible rather than overwhelming.
The Alcohol Reset Pathway is not about willpower or abstinence as an endpoint. It is about awareness, nervous-system safety, emotional honesty, and rebuilding trust in yourself. Claire’s approach blends meditation, parts-based inquiry, compassionate reflection, and practical structure to support lasting change that is intelligent, embodied, and sustainable.
